FAQ
Does Piers use an assistant?
From experience, Piers finds working
on his own gives him a more intimate interaction with those present. On occasions when assistance is required
with things like holding reflectors to control the light, guests
are usually happy to oblige.
How does Piers cope
with family group shots at large weddings on his own?
At the pre-wedding consultation, Piers will
discuss this part of the day in particular detail. The key to getting these shots taken swiftly
is to plan carefully. Piers
asks clients to nominate a ‘helper’ from their guests.
This helper liaises with Piers to bring the groupings together
efficiently.

Are travel and overnight accommodation expenses included where required?
Piers will pay for all overnight expenses
in mainland UK. A small
transport charge may be levied, depending on distance.
How long will Piers
stay with us on our wedding day?
Depending on distances & timings,
Piers may travel the evening before a wedding in order to be available
for a prompt start in the morning. He stays until the start of the
wedding breakfast or, with extended coverage, into the evening as
appropriate. Times are flexible
Does Piers ever photograph
more than one wedding a day?
No.
How many photographs
does Piers take?
There is no fixed number. He will often
take 500+ photographs at a wedding. The quantity taken is
dependent upon many factors like the number of locations throughout
the day, and the time between the ceremony and the wedding breakfast

What does Piers do
about eating on the day?
When commissioned for extended coverage,
he is usually either invited to join the guests at the wedding breakfast
or offered a bar meal. He will then be able to photograph speeches
and cake cutting as they happen.
How many photographs
will we get to see?
Most weddings produce between 150 &
250 beautiful images. All of these are seen by the couple in their
proof catalogue & on their CD. A private viewing can also be
arranged if they feel this would be helpful in making album selections.
How many photographs
make a great album?
Most clients choose between 80 and
120 pictures in their album. There is no limit however.
Do I pay more for
more pictures in my album?
Each additional image beyond the initial
40 is charged at a flat rate of £20, regardless of size.
Why are additional
prints all one price, regardless of size?
What matters most is the overall design of the album,
with each image sitting comfortably on its’ page.
Some images may be full, A3 size, whilst others will compliment
these as as 2x3 inch prints.

How much can we expect
to spend on extra prints?
From the above it follows that an album
with 100 images will be an additional £1200. Parents’
albums are also available to order.
Prices depend on size of album.
As a guide, a parents’ album containing 20 images,
at 10x8 inches is £250.
At Piers’ discretion, he can offer spread payments
over ten months on an interest free basis.
Extra prints in our
album seem expensive!
The time, care, and attention, that
goes into each image is immense. It is well worth it though. Piers
uses only the finest materials and meticulous attention to detail
to ensure you and your guests look fantastic.
What camera does Piers
use?
Piers uses two Fujifilm S1 professional
digital SLR cameras. These cameras allow Piers to work quickly &
discreetly in all lighting conditions.
What are the advantages
of using digital cameras?
With digital cameras Piers can make
use of the extraordinary quality advantage digital photography has
over film in low light conditions. Photographing without flash during
the ceremony (with permission) and at other times throughout the
day allows him to use the natural light creatively.
There are no noisy motordrives winding
film, and they have instant facilities to check for blinks etc.
Above all the print quality is truly fantastic.
How much digital manipulation
goes into our pictures?
Every image is individually assessed
for colour and tone correctness. Some images are then ‘tidied’
to some extent before black & white or colour options are created.
Is there an extra
charge for this service?
No. All editing is carried out on a
complimentary basis. Piers prides himself on the quality of his
prints and the total satisfaction of his clients.

AFTER THE WEDDING
How do we get to see
our photographs?
Clients are invited to a viewing session at the studio where Piers
conducts an edit session for the album images. Choosing the images for the
album needs time & consideration.
Sometimes a follow-up meeting is arranged. Piers will guide clients
through this edit with care to see that the best possible selection is made.
There is no additional charge for this service. Clients also receive a proof catalogue & time-limited CD
containing all the images viewed.
Why is the slideshow CD time limited?
The slideshow CD is an alternative way of proofing the
images. It is supplied to compliment
the proof catalogue & website viewing gallery. The two months viewing time the CD provides is usually ample to
help clients finalise their album choices.
Parents often like to use the CD to make their own selections.
The time limitations also encourage busy clients to reach
their album decisions sooner rather than later, thereby ensuring the finished
album is in their hands as soon as possible after the wedding.
What about the internet?
Once
the proofs have been viewed and approved by the bride and groom
the images are posted to the viewing gallery of Piers’ website.
These images are not usually password protected, giving guests
hassle-free access to the imagery.
Secure on-line purchasing of albums or reprints is available.
Should privacy be preferred, clients’ pages can be
password protected if requested.

How will my guests
know about the website?
This varies with each wedding. Piers likes to work closely with his clients
from day one. Sometimes the website is publicised on the wedding
stationery. Cards announcing the viewing gallery can be left on
the wedding breakfast tables.
How long will our
album take to arrive?
It can take up to three weeks from the time of viewing your photographs to the time you receive your mock up of how your album will look. In that time Helen will have designed a layout for the album, made any adjustments required to the images and had them printed. You will then have an opportunity to make any further adjustments necessary. Helen will then spend up to three weeks putting the album together. No expense or time is spared in creating your album.

How will we get our
album?
You are free to collect your album
if you happen to be near the Bristol area, or we can dispatch it
to you for a nominal charge of £10.
How will our parents
be able to choose their pictures?
It may be possible for your parents
to attend the latter part of your viewing with Piers who will help
them make a selection then. The second option is for them to view
the proof catalogue or CD & select their images that way. Finally,
all the pictures will be available for viewing on the internet.
There is a facility for parents to order albums on-line if they
wish.
When will our pictures
go on to the internet?
Normally within two working days of
your viewing, the pictures will be online for friends and family
to see. At your request your proofs can be online usually a week
of your wedding. This can be useful for clients taking an extended
honeymoon wanting to view their images whilst away.
If we want our pictures
to be on the internet but hidden from public view, what are our
options?
Your pictures can be uploaded to a
unique internet location without links, and you can be sent your
own URL. The other option of course, is not to upload them at all.
What happens if I
want a reprint, several years from now?
You contact Piers in the usual way
and order it. All files are kept indefinitely, and copies of those
files are kept at a secure separate location.

If our album gets
damaged by a flood or fire, can it be replaced?
Yes. We keep accurate records of all
orders and album layouts. We do however recommend that you have
your wedding album and photographs insured on your home contents
policy.
How long will our
photographs last?
We use Fujifilm and Kodak photographic
materials exclusively and have assurances that predict no noticeable
change for 60+ years.

please do not hesitate to contact us!
